Apathetic
This horse is sure one tough cookie to get riled up. Not much scares him, not much worries him.

He tends to care even less if it pertains to any other horse.

Fearless
Living on his own has forced Dandelion to face every obstacle he comes across. He didn’t have time to fear, and no one to discuss problems with. So he learned to charge face first into whatever ailed him, and has surprisingly little scars to show for it.

Simple
Bud isn’t stupid: he's just not very smart. Bud has a hard time grasping complicated matters, and does best when asked to simple tasks, like scouting ahead. Just don't expect him to analyze the information he brings back himself.

He doesn't really think about what he's doing before he does it. And living alone with no one to teach him about the world didn't help.

Jolly
No storm cloud can water down this horses spirits. After coming to terms with his childhood abandonment Bud realized that not much worse could happen to him. He’s vowed to look on the bright side of life.

Athletic
Though a bit slow in the head, Bud is quick on his feet; he has a stockier build, living in the marsh has made Bud tough and surefooted. In addition his attempts to change his gaits to a normal trot and canter, though embarrassingly unsuccessful, have strengthened his muscles.

Explorer
Dandelion wants to go where no horse has gone before!
Though attached to a herd, when given the chance Bud will run off for days, looking for good grazing grounds, peeking into logs, and climbing into bat infested caves.

History:
Foalhood
Bud was born as one half of a rare twin birth in the Olde herd. Both siblings were small, but healthy and were quickly on their wobbly legs bickering over their mother’s milk. Clover, their mother, was beyond pleased with this surprise, and kept both foals. Because they were both so small, their mother kept them from the herd for a few days, making sure they would be strong enough to keep up.
During the three days Clover kept them, she noticed the odd gaits that dandelion had. He didn’t trot or even canter like his brother, instead he had an odd stepping gate and a lateral pace. While this was odd, Bud didn’t seem to have any trouble keeping up with his brother, or even notice he was different.
When they were introduced to the herd, they gained somewhat of a celebrity status, as the other horses ‘oohh’d and ‘aaahh’d at the twins for a few days, and earned glares from Clover whenever they started to mention Dandelion’s movement. The status passed quickly though, and the twins enjoyed a normal life in their home meadow.
All seemed to be going well until one summer afternoon, when the little Bud was sleeping in his secret spot inside a bush, when a pack of wolves found the herd and attacked. Instinctively the herd ran off, assuming that

Dandelion woke confused, and called for his mother. When there was no reply, he started calling for the others. Still there was nothing.
Determined to find them he began to wander south, calling constantly for his family.

Early adolescence/teenager
It took a healthy year, but Bud eventually gave up looking for his family. He became a wanderer, quiet and lonely, on the East Island.
For a short time he took up residence in the swamp. A horrible and dangerous place to horses, Dandelion grew up quickly here, learning how to tell crocodiles from logs and snakes from vines. While he lived in the marsh, he grew surefooted and came to peace with the loss of his family.
However, after nearly drowning in a large patch of quicksand, Bud decided to move on from the dark wet place he called home. Once again the young horse moved south, now more confident in himself, and ready to face whatever came his way.

Early adulthood/current
As Bud once again wandered the land he began to pick up hints of a herd. An old dung pile here, a trampled bit of grass there. Being the curious type, Bud decided to follow the trail, and see if he could find the herd. A bit of company would do him well after being alone for so long.
It was only a week until the young stallion came upon the herd. The wind was blowing from behind Bud, and the herd had known he was coming by his smell. They had sent a couple of horses out to investigate and meet him.
When the escorts decided Bud wasn’t going to cause any problems they invited him back to graze with them.
Though a bit mistrusting of the herd, he accepted their invitation and followed them along. It wasn’t long before the young stallion realized how much he had missed being around other horses.
Though he was given no special rank, and avoided as an outsider at first, he was allowed to scout and play, and grew happier with each day.
Dandelion has decided to stay here, at least for a bit.
