ST: Voyager is such an underrated series. It really doesn't deserve all the hate that it often gets from fanboys, especially here on the Internet.

I think it is elitism, some hardcore ST:TOS fans look down on the everyone, TNG fans on DS9 & so on. Me I think every series has something to offer. I used to Hate DS9 & even stopped watching it, then last year I was ill for a few month & watched all 7 seasons & decided I loved it!

In this case, it's the DS9 fans who hate on Voyager because they wanted it to be dark and angsty like the former, and were disappointed when they instead got something reminiscent of TNG. Personally, I'm glad that this wasn't the case, because that would have very likely resulted in something reminiscent of Frank Miller's infamous All-Star Batman and Robin: The Boy Wonder, where the main characters were little more than sociopaths with no empathy for other sentient beings. I think we can all agree that this would have been a very unpleasant series to watch.

Another part of the problem is that some amateur online "reviewers" (in the loosest sense of the term) like SF Debris felt the need to focus only on the negative aspects of the series while ignoring the positive ones, and when all else failed, outright making up "plot holes" and misinterpreting the characters in order to gain attention, and people began copy-pasting their opinions. Newsflash - arrogant, unfunny, pretentious idiots such as these should never be cited as source of information about the series, since they clearly don't understand the concepts of character or story development, and are clearly unable to apply constructive criticism to the series or tolerate opposing views.
