Description The Delta-class, sometimes known as the Ganges-class as the first two ships commissioned on the same day, formed Earth Starfleet's main combat force in the mid-22nd Century. The NP patrol frigates were intended to provide a viable defensive deep-space combat force in contrast to their near-contemporaries the Daedalus-class science vessels. Originally entering service in 2140, possessing a top speed of warp 3.5, armed with plasma cannon and thermonuclear spatial torpedoes and having defences of polarised duranium hull plating. As time progressed, upgrades to the ships saw the plasma weaponry replaced with nadion phase cannons. By the time of the Earth-Romulan War, Vulcan upgrades to the sensors and engines saw them able to detect Romulan ships under holographic cover and achieve a top speed of warp 5, while Andorian enhancements saw them equipped with phase lasers and deflector shields. The class would see use in the early years of the Federation Starfleet, before their eventual replacement in 2170.

The warp-delta, as seen as a bit-player in Enterprise. I've scaled her to 122m long, a rough estimate but one that fits in with the 165m length of the Intrepid. I've made some modifications to the original, including adding a visible deflector dish in the lower forward hull. Maybe it's just never seen from the right angles in the show...

I must say that the 'Warp Delta' is definitely a charismatic design which we have seen too little of - but then again, how many Fan favourites make an impact on audiences quite out of proportion with their actual screen time?

I love this design. Plus your estimate of 122m is almost spot on. The Star Trek Starship Collection magazine featured a model of this class in one of its issues (Number 82). The model is 105mm long at a scale of 1:1238. This works out at 129.99m length.

Not bad then, I was primarily going with that since it meant I didn't have to bother with a lot of rescaling of the original base picture. Just shave a few pixels off the bow and the nacelle caps. Yes I was feeling lazy

Delta was always one of my favorites of the Enterprise era ships.
