Description
It's been a while since my last upload. I've been pretty busy with new 3d models... on the spur of the moment, I decided to update my old Daxter picture, with my newer Daxter model.Hope you like it!

wow, this is an excellent model. The only things I would change are the eyes reflectivity and the shininess of the metal, it seems a little over the top. Also what about fur?

Haha... fur is the one thing everyone is clamoring for, but it wasn't even on the Daxter models from the games(Though there was a screwy looking one on the Daxter PSP game)
I'll get around to it.

I'm sure developers were just worried about the poly count, but engines are becomes much more capable for supporting all the vertexes. Cheers!

Fur takes up a lot of polygons. In order to achieve an even semi-realistic effect, I need over two million hairs for Daxter. If each hair only used three polygons (Which doesn't produce a very good effect), that's still six million polygons. Most high-end computer games only have about half a million per frame, and that's for everything... environment, characters...
There are a few other techniques out there which they're using, but for individual strands, it's still a fairly long ways off; and by the time the computers are powerful enough, they'll have discovered a much more efficient way of doing it anyway!

Thanks!
Well... I would like to, but my spare time for 3d work is kind of low right now. I have a lot of work going on atm. I writing a couple documents, designing a map, and trying to start a small business.
I'll tell you what though; if the business takes off, and a particular thing that I need to have happen, happens. I will indeed do it...

Needs more fuzzies, but otherwise good. Looks kinda overly adorable for Daxter, mind you.

Haha, you can see a tiny bit of teeth in his grin... that rocks 8D
Awesome I really like how the eyes came out in this version. And the chrome is still really cool looking 8U!

Thanks. I still need to add fur to Daxter; but I'll need Maya for that, and in addition to being really screwy to work with, Maya also doesn't like my Daxter model... I think 'cuz it was rigged in Max.
Eitherwhichway, I'll get around to it... eventually.

I like the furless version since it's how I remember him, from the days I used to watch Matt playing in the "pool room" XD
