i like both, but I'm just more skilled at traditional artwork. Idk my stuff is kinda inhuman, so I guess I prefer the more "human" experience of putting your hand to paper and working at a piece because whenever I draw it can get weird

If this is truly a page of art from the reknown Heavy metal magazine then...I feel sorta "meh" about it `_` .See when I think of Heavy metal magazine I think of the cover art from the late 70's and early 80's stuff that seemed to be ahead of then current comic book art by at least 15 years.Something old-ish that reminds me of Heavy metal magazine syle art in mainstream American comics is that promotional X-men art I've heard that Royo did in the 90's.
This sample just reminds me vagualy of Brian Azzarello.NO OFFENSE Mr.Wilkins if your reading this.I'm not saying that your style is bad.I'm saying that your syle seems sorta typical and I thought that Heavy metal magazine would go for a more peculiar specialized style with that famous Franzetta ethos.Maybe it's just a sign of times.
Maybe the same way that some mainstream music videos are border-line "erotica -_-" comparable to like 80's erotica maybe mainstream comics imatited more mature,niche stuff like Heavy metal magazines general style so that it can benefit and reap in the profits of adapting a style that's better suited to cheesecake and an at least superficial sense of "hard core-ness" `_` .This might have meant that Heavy metal magazine kept it's style,didn't change so much and now it's artwork isn't as special b/c it's not to far off from mainstream DC and Marvel comics '~' (?)...
