John quickly opened his drawer and removed the notepad, pressing his wet thumb to the corner of the next page and marking it with Karkat's tear before tossing it upon the desk and drawing out a handkerchif for him. "Here," he whispered, turning back and getting quite close as he dried Karkat's face.

The troll's eyes skimmed the sketchbook, though quickly moved to John as the human once more leaned in closer than Karkat would have every let anyone else. He semi-realized just how much John was allowed to do that he'd murder anyone else for doing. "Th-thanks.." He hiccuped slightly, pursing his lips with an almost pout at the annoying noise. His cheeks reddened beyond the tear-induced state as he looked ebtween John's bright, close eyes; picking out little details in them.

John smiled softly, dropping the cloth to the floor as he scanned Karkat's face, even at this close. "Such a princess..." he breathed, one hand coming to rest on Karkat's cheek, nearing slowly, their lips very close now but still he continued to lean in...

Karkat felt more than asked his eyes drift to half-lidded, knowing this was wrong on so many levels, yet he couldn't find it in himself to deny John. Then it burst into the front of his mind just what he was; everything he'd told Jade was wrongly accused was true. He was a monster, untrustable, easily enraged, disgusting.. he was a mutant by all standards and he felt himself draw back minutely, the deepest of sorrows, self-loathing and apology in his eyes. "I-I.. I'm not worth it.." He breathed, head shaking a bit as he put nearly two inches between them- a lot, comparitively. "You're an earl, I-I'm a fuckin' mutant.."

John drew back slowly, his face laced with hurt, but his small smile still shone like a star in the inky black. He desperately wanted to argue, to tell Karkat he was wrong and end it all, but he kept his tongue civil. "There are many things I could say, Karkat, none of them in agreeance, but I will let you do as you will..." he cut it short at that, turning and striding quickly away to the far side of the study, a washroom, and shut the door firmly behind him.

The troll tried to protest his leaving, but his voice was completely lost in his inner screaming; hands that'd come up to rest against John now suspeneded in midair. They were shaking. The theif slowly lowered them, feeling even worse than before. Slowly, he made his way towards the door of the study and, ultimately, his room.

John tried to calm his panting breath, fighting the urge to just run out there and tell him...but Karkat seemed much to much like a vase. A precious little vase, delicate but full of use, beyond value, but it seemed all John was doing was picking him up and dropping him then picking him up and dropping him again....and again....and again....

This is just like totally my all-time favorite RP for the moment. XD> I think about it like a lot e_e and I love it to bits, even if things keep getting kinda awkward xD>
