I'll never forget the pressure I experienced while inking this.Good pal Darwyn Cooke stood over my shoulder, while talking to my editor (Chi) on the phone. "He's inking the bars with a sponge right now."
This is another early psd effort. I inked all of the elements individually and assembled them in the machine.
I don't work that way now. I try to get it all on one board.
This is the last of the Action covers, but I've still a few more Superman things to post.

I am only gonna say this once, unless a better one comes out. THIS IS MY FAVORITE COVER OF ACTION COMICS EVER.
That sounds like hyperbole, but it's not. I bought this issue based solely on the cover, hoping for a one-shot where Superman and Luthor team up to break out of jail for some reason. Sadly, the story was not nearly as good as my imagination. I just thought you ought to know that, alone out of all the covers of action comics and all the kids who ever saw them, somebody thought yours was the best.
