Holy crap! What a way to leave the audience hanging! Why would Leif do such a thing?
I love the bizarre transposition of Leif's brutality (punching Dave in the face) and his consideration for the guy (Leif apologizing to and asking Dave to take off his glasses before pounding his face). It's a clever way of letting the audience know that Leif truly cares for Dave, even if the former may be up to no good.

From Lief's look on the previous page I was thinkin it could possibly be bad news for Davey's face on this page and I was right. Joy of joys. But yes, at least he had the glasses off.
I just wanna know why and I was speculatin' but I think it's best to just find out later and forget my theories for now.
