Description
This is a skin tight silicone suit that was in 2 pieces, legs and upper torso. The hole in his chest was hooked up to a pressure pot that sprayed gooey black acid ( not real acid). This was done at Patrick Tatoupolas Studio and several people were involved in the creation of this character.

I just remember watching the commentary on Silent Hill are hearing the jokes on this guy, haha. Trojan Man!
Anyway, another amazing piece. The webbing on the torso is fantastic, not to mention the amazing shape created with the foam underneath... More amazing airbrushing work, of course. All those veins! I just love the color pallet of Silent Hill monsters.

Watching this character come to life in the movie was so eerie and incredible. Actually, the whole movie in general exceeded my expectations. I found myself pointing out camera angles I remembered from playing Silent Hill 2.
All that said, Armless was amazing.

This is amazing, how did you learn to make these? WHat kind of training did you attend? I <3 Silent Hill.

Ugh, that thing gave me nightmares for a week after the movie! Super creepy, and it looks amazing minus all the movie effects and filters too!

Glad I could contribute to your nightmares, but if you saw it off the bodyform, I don't think it would scare anyone.

holy mackerel! It was you who made and design this? Awesome! I'm a Silent Hill fan, that movie rocks. Are you gonna work for the second one? I'd seen the movie features that included how they set up and dress this suit to the actor. and here it is... thanks for sharing.

Thank you. Patrick Tatopoulas did the design work, but I and others were given the task of making everything practical. I won't be involved w. the sequel and the behind the scenes features didn't include any of us that built all the creature suits, that was the on set makeup crew that handled all our suits. Myself and the rest of our creature crew didn't get any credit for the film.

no, no, I was afraid of his movements (Puppet phobia). But I loved the look. XD
Cause of this little problem I couldnΒ΄t watch The Gruge (jap. version) to the end.
Hated the scene with the stairs. Why do creepy things always move like that? XD Brrrrrr
But IΒ΄m kinda glad that itΒ΄s manmade.
I just can say great work again.

I'm so glad I found a way to talk to you over Deviant Art.
I saw the movie in 2007 (I was 13 at the time) and the whole atmosphere made me fall in love with the series. The Armless Man scene has always been my favorite scene of the movie. (too bad you had to scrap the scene in front of the hotel)
This scene and Yamaokas music were the reason I picked the game up 2 years ago.
I just loved 1-3.
Your Armless Man was a big motivation for me to pick up the games, thank you so much for making me pick up the games.
I have a couple of questions...:
Did you get to keep the costume after the movie?
Did you ever think about selling the costume?
How long did you work on it?
Did you take pictures in the making process? If so, could you upload them?

Thanks for all the kind words.
No, we don't get to keep the costumes, they go to the studio afterwards.
I think he took about 4 weeks.
Yes I did, and I'll do that when I get a chance to look through the old photos.

Oh, I have another question. Since you worked on Silent Hill 1, did they offer you to work on creatures for Silent Hill 2? (If you're even allowed to talk about that, I don't know how that works, sorry)
