Battle Run came out about two years ago and it did fairly well. It is this fun little game I got to design.It is beyond me how Fun Run (our competition) is still doing fantastic considering its horrific art quality, but then I realize again, and again that
the most important thing in making games is the game play. I suppose Battle Run lacked in that department, or something else who knows.
I hope we never make another Fun Run like game simply because I don't think we can ever win that piece of crap game.
And as an artist that angers me. You may say that Fun Run has a unique look and that it is designed to be goofy.
But that doesn't make bad art good. Imagine Disney doing the Fun Run game, yes..its going to be fully goofy but with quality.
I am getting out of the mobile game industry as soon as I am ready.

Yeah it's too bad. Quality stuff isn't always what gets most attention - I know nothing about the mobile game industry but this piece is amazing.

Thank you Stella! You are absolutely right, that is the realty, and not just with games but with many things in life. It's been talked about how mobile industry is deteriorating the game industry and that we are expecting another crash but I don't think it's going to happen. Im getting out of the mobile simply because I hate its limits.

If you're referring to the art above as "bad art", you're definitely your own worst critic. lol Good and bad is subjective to who's viewing it, and I'd kill to be able to do sceneries and backgrounds that look like that. (Well maybe not kill, but my scenery work is pitiful lol) I'm sure you can spot every little imperfection that you might have missed or couldn't do anything about (I'm the same way), but to me, I see a beautiful little forest village that would suit the kind of stuff that I try to do perfectly.

people who love what they do rather annoying so. I was just mad how FUN RUN
is doing great when BATTLE RUN doesn't. Go check out Fun Run, you will know
what I mean. I worked on Battle Run (not Fun Run) and I do like this background

Oh wow, yeah I can totally see the difference there between those two games. It always surprises me when stuff like that happens too, but I guess it comes down to the audience the type of game attracts? Maybe you get more of a kid audience for that particular style of game in general, and they prefer the cute kiddy graphics? Games like Maple Story are a good example as well maybe. Super cartoony/anime look and wacky side-scrolling action, but I don't think I knew anyone over 20-25 who played it very often. Who knows for sure though?
I was a little confused based on the image description and the few posts you'd been replying to before mine, so yeah I misinterpreted what you were mad about, so my bad too. haha Either way, your art itself is definitely great, so keep it up!

Yeah I hear you. I wish it was clear but it never is. No wonder eight out of
ten mobile companies go bankrupt within two years, it's just the natural way~

Don't beat yourself up, you are an amazing artist. The problem with people is they don't see hard work or talent easily. At least you are earning from what you love, so take comfort in that. I understand the frustration, you put up so much effort and the other guys with a crappier work gets all the attention. Trust me that is how I feel with my work.
Aside from that, this concept is truly inspiring.
