Description
The Reapers possess many potent and mysterious weapons and ships, among them, the Colossus, these mighty warships are entirely organic and not built, all of the are grown on hive planets, these ships are roughly 10 million square kilometers (so roughly European continent sized ship). They are incredibly resilient creatures, they think, and solve complex problems mid battle, the older they are the stronger they get, the oldest documented Reaper Colossus encountered by the Empire is nearly 1 billion years old. It is well known that these ships eat anything and everything for sustenance, ranging from starships to asteroids, but they can gain sustenance via photosynthesis, these ships love sunbathing close to the stars corona (who wouldn't love a good sunbathing). It is also observed that sometimes they brush their hull against asteroids, which caused them no damage or discomfort, it is theorized that either the ship is just playing with the asteroid or it just needed a good scratching. Each of these warships are piloted by an elder Reaper specimen who will be fused into the ship, although it is said that this process is not permanent. The ship is also like every Reaper specimen completely subservient to the hive mind. The Colossus type ship is first observed by the Empire during an alien attack against the Reapers, the alien species sent a short message to the Reaper forces that "undesirable species will be cleansed from this galaxy" but due to a transmission error the only part they understand was "undesirable" so from that point on the Reapers called the aliens undesirables and started do defend against their attacks, subsequently awakening all colossus warships across the galaxy from a deep slumber, hungry for war. Within 50 years the undesirables were hunted to extinction, every part of their civilization was destroyed, their cities, space stations, asteroid colonies, all dead and buried, after that most of the colossus warships went back to sleep until they are awakened again waiting for another war...
