Are you printing out the pencil work first on some sort of heavy bristol?

Hi there, yip, that’s what I’m doing. I like the feeling of working on the “Original” pencils. But, alas, we don’t get Bristol much here in South Africa, but I am using a very heavy comic book board.

Very interesting. What kind of printer are you using. I have been looking for a printer that can print on that heavy paper.

I take it to my local printer Minute Man Press, they do it for me, I think you guys call them Kinkos in the States?

As far as a home printer, I haven’t found one that can handle the thick boards, but then again, I haven’t been able to even source a A3/Tabloid sized scanner here in Johannesburg for under $3000

what does a French curve do and how do you use it?

Well, basically it’s a great way to get your rounded edges that are not circles or ovals. If you have a look at the shield, I used the French Curve to get a good round edge. It’s a very useful tool when you’re illustrating or inking.

Speedball Nibs B Series B1-B6, C Series C1-C6
Speedball 102 Crow Quill, 107 Hawk Quill, and 108 Flexible Quill
A set of Chips Korea Memoryarist Comic Pens that I managed to fing in Stockholm whilst on holiday of all places: [link] Great product, especially for manga artists
Speedball India Ink
FW White Ink
Copic Multiliners
And then I’m ganna do some toning with the old Badger 150 Airbrush
