Bio

Isabel and Dulcie are two close friends who attend school at Arlesburghside Primary. They first met after Isabel escaped from her abusive home with her brothers Oliver and Toad. Her father was a working class citizen who was unable to secure a job to fully support the family and her mother was constantly incapable of managing three children on her own. Because of this, both parents frequently turned to drinking every chance they got, resulting in violent behaviour directed at her and her brothers. Thanks to Oliver's bravery and determination, the three of them managed to escape from their parents and were eventually rescued by Douglas McIntosh and brought to Sodor, where they went to live with their family residing there.

Being an only child, Dulcie was always getting into mischief. She hit her rebellious phase quite early and always landed herself in deep trouble with some of the older residents of Arlesburgh. This continued until she met Isabel, and the two of them, despite their differences, immediately became friends; their differing personalities helping out the other in big ways, with Isabel taming Dulcie's wild side considerably and Dulcie helping to make Isabel more self reliant after years of not being such.

Due to her rough upbringing, Isabel is quite fragile and weak physically, but is very smart for someone her age; having to manage her family's finances before escaping made her a bit of a perfectionist. Dulcie on the other hand was uninterested in any written studies and always gave the least amount of effort, but she did excel physically, thanks primarily to her tendency of troublemaking. Both girls' strengths and weaknesses played off each other perfectly, with Isabel tutoring Dulcie and Dulcie helping Isabel become a much stronger girl. Though she hates violence, Isabel doesn't take kindly to others mocking her brothers, particularly Oliver, whom she views as a personal hero, so when Oliver challenged the leader of the Troublesome Truckers gang, SC Ruffey Ballest to a fist fight, she and Dulcie helped him prepare for his encounter with the street thug, which ultimately lead to Oliver's victory.

One is a kind souled sweetheart, the other a troublemaker with a heart of gold. Both are polar opposites, yet inseparable as friends.
