The only small issue is that the bridge module is still there, it blew up just before the whole forward saucer exploded

After reading some of the comments, I have to show just how much of a Trekkie I am. The Enterprise had 2 self destruct systems. The first one, mentioned in TMP, would mix all of her matter and antimatter which would create an explosion powerful enough to destroy a large planet. The second self destruct system was designed to destroy Enterprise's main computer core and memory banks. The second self destruct system was used in Star Trek III.

poor E, she didn't get the quick death that a properly working self-destruct system should have given her...

If you look close enough, you can still see Scotty's badge on the left shuttle bay door saying: I don't brake for Klingons

cuz i seem to recall a line from scotty (i think from the series) saying something like "when that much matter and antimatter come together, oh yes she'll blow" when referring to the self destruct. which means the detonation would have come from the nacelles or the secondary hull, and it would have been BIG.
also a good example of "they don't make 'em like they used to" syndrome in later series. not only did the self destruct not work, whole subsystems in the M/AMRA having to have failed, but something ELSE overloaded and blew up the front half of the saucer. which in say TNG would have caused many ships to blow up completely right there. AND the wreck of the Enterprise survived the atmosphere entry and crashing, apparently without suffering a containment breach of her antimatter storage system. later ships take two torpedoes and die. hell, the reliant loses a warp engine and is disabled, the E-D loses one and is destroyed and sent into a 'temporal causality loop'.

The ship was probably low on fuel. She was to be decommissionned, it's a great achievment for Scotty to make her flight-capable for the trip back to Genesis.

it was a sad moment when this happened but at least kirk got some revenge for the kruge killing david on genesis.

only one nitpick: you forgot to blow up the bridge. in the movie the first thing that explodes is the bridge.

Nem rossz. De több tüz kellene. Meg igazábol sosem értettem miért a felső fedélzet robant fel amikor ott nincsen semmi. Inkább a géháznak kellet volna vagy felete a torpedoknak.

davemetlesits In reply to LandingZone [2008-06-27 12:35:17 +0000 UTC]

Azért a tányér robbant föl, mert ott van az adatbank, meg az ilyen fontosabb cuccok, ami jobb, ha nem kerül az ellenség kezére. Amúgy ott van az impulzusreaktor, azt begyújtják, elég az...

LandingZone In reply to davemetlesits [2008-06-28 11:34:21 +0000 UTC]

Az impulzus is a végében van a nyaknál. És ha már felrobanna az a kis anyag antianyag akkor a felső fedélzet sem uszná meg.

Scotty biztos bennefelejtette a kanalat a mikróban, mikor melegített, az miatt robbant föl

I was sad too. Sad for James T. in order to save his friends, he break a promise to himself about the Enterprise in the Naked Time ," I never lose you. Never!!"

--
"My Lord. The ship appears to be deserted."
"How can that be? They're hiding!"
"Yes, sir. But the bridge appears to be run by computer. It is the only thing speaking."
"Speaking? Let me hear!"
"NINE...EIGHT...SEVEN...SIX...FIVE...FOUR..."
"Get out! Get out of there!! Get out!!!!"
"ONE..."
