Description
The ISS Lexington hunts the Rebel starship Polaris.I modified the Lexington to have a Phase II style neck and torpedo launcher, plus visible phaser emitters. She needs to be badass!

Hijacked imperial ship... One would think they would mount underside phaser emitters to combat such a thing.

These rebel scum must die! For the Empire! ATTACK!!!
Seriously, though, nice work, Dave. The neck-mounted torpedo launcher makes more sense than the original location in the saucer module.

You're welcome. BTW, the Phase II torpedo launcher appears to be a very cramped compartment for two torpedo tubes (one port & starboard)...

The Polaris needs to DO A BARREL ROLL!
Joking aside, the Mirror-Universe Polaris is a great idea; I can't wait to see where this goes!

Love the texture / damage work. The "Polaris" looks like it was painted in a hurry - reminds me of "Operation Petticoat". [link]

Yupp, I used a grafitti style font for the name. And it is the only identification on the whole ship, no pennant or NCC number anywhere.

Guess the recession has reached the alternate future. Poor Polaris can't even afford hangar doors.

She has hangar doors. They were never Enterprise-like clamshells but akin to garage doors.

Cool. Actually, when you did the rebel Polaris, I got this idea of a ship and crew trying to tear down the Federation.

They don't go against the Feds. They have the Prime Polaris to do so

Yea but I was thinking an alternate timeline in which a ship, let's say the USS Retribution, plots to destroy the Federation, and it goes through 6-7 seasons of the planning and forming alliances and in the end they fail in their original mission and are destroyed, only to have the Federation fall in the uprising caused by their actions, an outcome they didn't plan but worked just as well.

Which if you think about it makes a lot of sense. An emitter thats surface mounted has a larger field of fire than one thats embedded and must fire through an aperature in the hull. Putting the torp launchers on the neck has always bothered me - its a prime target and if hit and subsequent explosion could lead to many decapitated starships.

davemetlesits In reply to karanua [2011-02-13 00:43:14 +0000 UTC]
If the neck is hit too hard, the placement of the torpedoes is the least important thing. Remember, the Warp core runs through the neck

not on the early connies, just the retrofit ones but yeah, vry valid point - why put that in such a lightly armored spot too?

Awesome, It's great to see some more of the Rebel Polaris. I really like how you had the roughly painted in Polaris on the saucer a really nice touch. I couldn't see it clearly in the last image so it's great to see a better view in this image.

I'm glad you like it. Ths Rebel Polaris has no Starfleet markings or even an NCC number. She is just the Polaris.

Nicely done. I like the neck and torpedo launcher.
Just a suggestion: change the main color of the ISS Lexington to black, or dark gray and give it a sort of "negative" look (the hull panels that are darker in the normal universe are lighter in the mirror universe).

davemetlesits In reply to Night-Forager [2011-02-13 00:44:58 +0000 UTC]
Given that the ISS Enterprise has the same colour scheme as the USS Enterprise, I wanted the consistency to remain.

I understand. It was just a suggestion.
I just wanted to give the Terran Empire a bit more menace than they did originally. And since there are an infinite number of realities, there are likely thousands of Terran Empires. O.O Kinda scary to think about, though.
