Description There are two constants in the universe:revenge and hope. The crew of the Starship Enterprise just became a part of these constants.

Looks great davemetlesits but you forgot to add the battle damage under the saucer section on the right shown here [link]

davemetlesits In reply to Ups44chris [2008-05-20 14:27:58 +0000 UTC]

Thank you. That damage pattern is incorrect. For STFS, they added some fove other damage points to the Enterprise. The undersaucer one dues not apeear in TWOK.

Ups44chris In reply to davemetlesits [2008-05-22 09:37:31 +0000 UTC]

Interesting, But why does it not appear in TWOK for?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

davemetlesits In reply to Ups44chris [2008-05-22 16:50:00 +0000 UTC]

The damages in TWOK were made on a wax model. With that, they could simulate phaser damage done to the ship with stop-motion animation. I think that this wax model was dismantled after filming. For TSFS, the film crew built a completely new Enterprise model with all the damages and explosives for the self-destruct scene. It is unknown why this latter one had more damages on it that it should have had...

my sister and brother. my friend josh. my bro used to like the Excelsior, but now he likes the Sovereign just like almost everybody else...

davemetlesits In reply to LittleFoxStudio [2008-05-05 16:39:26 +0000 UTC]

I used to like to sovereign until I realised that it is just a scaled-up, forwards-twisted fanboyish ΓΌbership version of the Connie Refit. I don't say it's a bad ship but it lacks the grace of the classic design, like most TNG era ships.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LittleFoxStudio In reply to davemetlesits [2008-05-05 19:56:28 +0000 UTC]

people only care about how uber powerful she is. when you first see the Soverign it's like: WOAH! shes big. but when you see the Connie refit, it's just wow... she's beautiful. i like some of the TNG era ships. like the Akira and Nebula classes.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

davemetlesits In reply to LittleFoxStudio [2008-05-06 00:00:22 +0000 UTC]

Überpowerful, who cares? It's just a big heap of metal. Of course if you had Kirk at the Captain's Chair, it wouldn't be so bad. You see, without a good crew, you can have the most powerful ship of the world, it's still just a few hundred metric tons of duranium. This is what makes TNG inferior to TOS. They picked a bunch of morons to do the job of legends like Kirk, Spock, McCoy and the rest of the team.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LittleFoxStudio In reply to davemetlesits [2008-05-06 04:14:08 +0000 UTC]

i wouldn't call Picard a moron. or too many of the other TNG crew morons either. Kirk and his crew are the coolest, though. i hate getting into arguments about who was better, they all have something to contribute to the audience. TOS was more about exploring humanity, while TNG was more of a scientific point of view. "you'll come to find that many of the truths we cling to, depend greatly on our own point of view".

Don't you know it. That shot of the Enterprise falling through the atmosphere in ST:TSfS tears me up more than Kirk's son's death.

davemetlesits In reply to NewPlanComics [2008-05-05 16:42:20 +0000 UTC]

For me, the most heartbreaking scene was seeing the 1701-A and the Excelsior together in ST:TUC. It showed how old the Connie was. The second most heartbraking moment was then the crew left Saavik on Vulcan, the poor girl. She was there carying Spock's child and Spock was out there saving the world once again. (okay, I'm a Sp/Saa fan, but don't tell this to K/S-ers )

"They just don't going in there."
