Agreed! And just the fact that they think it's broke is insulting...if you're going to do a movie version of something like Star Trek, you have to have some respect for what you're film-ifying, if you get my drift.
But every aspect of this movie that I have seen thus far reflects nothing but a crude dislike for everything TOS-related.

I've tried not to be negative about this movie. Then again, I've also tried to avoid all spoilers. Imagine how negative I'd be if I hadn't?
OK, but bashing of the film aside, davemetlesits' rendition of this new, old Enterprise definitely demands respect, in that he could make it pretty decent looking, for what it started as.

I really hope that the non-lit bussards are only that way because the ship isn't moving, I hope it glows when active/in motion.

For the most part I agree. I completely dislike the new ship. Not because it doesn't look cool, but because it is too much of a radical departure from the original ship. They should have just modernized the ship, not completely overhaul it.

I made it so to have the TOS proportions. If you look closely, the deflector dish stands on a support frame, not an integral part of the secondary hull...
