More accurate? More like Less Original! In the process of making it "more accurate", you completely MURDERED the design! Firstly, Almost every feature on the new nacelles can be likened to some feature on the old ones (even those fin-like things) Secondly, now that you have reverted the shape of the engineering section, it actually looks gross. and Thirdly, the updated blue glow in the deflector, and the color-change in the bussards actually add nice touches to the design; With the bussards reverted to red it just looks... Gross.
I think you can do better than that.

Vast improvement on the reboot. But I have to agree that the engineering hull would be better if it was moved aft in relation to the dorsal.

You know, I'v noticed something. At first I couldn't stand the new Enterprise. But now, I think she's beautiful. Even the really big neck supporting the saucer I think looks really nice. She looks sleek, even with her massive nacelles.

Yes, she has her own distinct style and grace.

Very Nice look
Personally I like the nacelles swept back a bit more, but that's just me.

As long as Abrams doesn't touch the refit, I guess I'll be happy.

I think the Warp nacells and the saucer section are a bit too big.

I like your spin on it to give it a lot of the original feel. To be honest, I also like the new design although it did take a little time to get used to it. In my eyes, the primary visual difference in proportions is to move the "weight" of the secondary hull forward, which bugged me at first. But I think the overall intention seems to be to de-emphasize the secondary hull altogether and concentrate on the saucer section as the main area of the ship where the vast majority of the scientific/diplomatic/military work is actually done and the secondary hull is only there to support the rest of the ship with engines, life support, etc. The original '60s design seemed to put as much visual weight in the engineering section as the sauce.
Just a few of my thoughts. Houever, as I said, I really like your take on it. I'd love to see an Oberth type arrangement with this style.

An Oberth in similar setup you mean?

I just mean the oberth layout with the "beam-to-engineering-section" arrangement of the ship's elements, but done in the sleek style of the new movie. For some reason, I've always been taken with the Oberth class, sort of the Yugo of Starfleet.
Anyway, you've got some great images in your gallery. I always enjoy it.

Well last night they had the new Star Trek trailer attached to the Quantum of Solace film. I think it's going to be a good movie. I am afraid that many of the die hard trekkies are not gonna like it because it is so radically different but making some changes might be the only way to save Star Trek and get a bigger fan base. we shall see.

The diehard trekkies are idiots. Star Trek is just a TV show and movie franchise. Its purpouse is to let people have fun. Too bad it was screwed up by people who dwell in Stardates, Treknoblabble and the stuff...

It is precisely because we are not idiots that we notice the screwups in the film. When we are told one thing in one film and the next film, that is supposed to be part of the same series, tells us, no.. ignore everything we told you before, we've changed our mind we tend to notice. If you are going to creat a fictional universe like the one in Trek, a certain amount of consistency is necessary. Personally I plan to enoy the trek movie for what it is... and it looks like, as one person commented to me, its going to be a very good scifi film, but a rubbish trek film. and the only people to blame for that are the makers, not the viewers. Please don't call us idiots.

Okay, sorry. I just meant that it is weird to be upset about something that has no importance at all...

To a certain extent I do agree with your comments. It depends on what you all important in a film. Personally I couldnt care less about what colour Kirk's eyes are or if the nacelles are a bit more modern. I do have some concerns about the way it looks as though they are going to mess with canon, but I'll go and see the film with an open mind and hopefully enjoy it. Whether I will consider it 'roper' trek after I've watched it remains to be seen. In the meantime, I will enjoy looking at your work. although... more Nebula class ships would be nice (hint hint) Lol, if you really want to get on my good side... how about a picture of the Endeavour with a Klingon bird of prey (teamed up together, not fighting each other)Until then, keep the pictures coming, we'll be watching.....

yeah, the one that will be in the movie looks too much like something out of the jetsons. has a weak looking secondary hull too

Tank you very much. According to the film crew, the image we were shown makes the proportions distorted due to the angle and lighting. The ship will look better, they said. Can't wait for an ortho view

The re-imagining does bring a modern look to the ship, and certainly makes it feel more realistic. Hopefully they're right about the proportion and lighting, but hey. We'll see soon enough.

Here's Ryan Church's comments on his remake of the Enterprise: [link]
I've been warning the hard-core trekkers... be prepared for radical changes throughout the franchise. This is definitely not going to be "your father's Star Trek". Also keep in mind it's this, or it's no new Trek material at all. I'll take it, no matter what it looks like!

the warp engines are to small, I think they have to be a little bit higher as the saucer section.

The nacelles look a little like the "Doomsday machine". Wonder if the concept designer was a little bit of a joker...

Your version is better but still after the first schock I've kinda started to like the desing they are going for. It has some elements I like. Especially the neck and the warp nacelles.

I like the neck too. The Warp nacelles remind me to much of the Ent-E but the Bussard collectors are sweet!
