*nods* That's a good point. Matt Jefferies was a very technical guy - when he drew up the design, he wanted it to make functional sense. I think that's one of the things that resonates most with me about his design - it's functional and military-like in it's simplicity and specific purpose.

Lots of effort went into it. Making the Enterprise look studio-quality was achieved by about ten revisions of the model. Figuring out how to make a realistic planet, that was even trickier.
