Nice battle wounds.
The Excelsior (or at least the class of ship) served a long time.

Holy crap, really long servitude!
Didn't Sulu's daughter captain it?

No, Sulu's daughter captained the Enterprise-B.

Excelcior is a beautiful ship, but her crew was very snobbish. She really needed a lesson of humility. " Of a surgeon for another doctor!! The more they improve the plumbings, easier it is turn off them "!
The excelcior must have been objective of many jokes after Mr. Scott's fittingses! But I liked to see Enterprise pass the torch to her, when sulu became his captain.

That scene, the two ships flying over Khitomer, it always brings a tear to my eye.

Yeah, it is a beautiful scene. The next scene with Spock telling Starfleet to go to Hell is just classic.

I wonder what they did with the Connies?

davemetlesits In reply to Spuderific [2009-08-10 22:59:30 +0000 UTC]

Recalled them from active service after the Khitomer Accords were signed. It was a symbol towards the Klingons, recalling the Federation capital ship of the cold war era. Starfleet knew that it's time for the Excelsior class to take over, anyway.

you say that, but they were still using the Miranda and Constellation well into the late 24th Century. God can only know why though..

That's my opinion of Excelsior. ^^ She can't replace the Enterprise. No matter how fast she is.
