Problem is the ships are to big to make it to the main reactor and the Death Star has enough turbo lasers to shoot all of them down.

Their shields are strong enough to resist borg, they will hold. Besides, who said that the Alliance is not there? The Federation attacks directly to draw fire while the Falcon and the bombers go in.

People need to forget about size. A cannon from the U.S. Civil war may weigh a few tons, but so does a cruise missile with an atomic warhead. Either probably weighs less than the Genesis torpedo, and if anyone doubts a Genesis torpedo could take out any 'death star', or Coruscant itself for that matter, I doubt there is any point attempting a discussion. Bang for the buck is a good standard for measuring technology levels. What s1cohen said below about 'Obsession' is corrrect. Scotty built a practical planet killer from stuff he practically had laying around in engineering. Don't forget 'General Order 24' which is an order for a single ship to destroy all life on a planet. None of this is reallyΒ important ... and people will get angry about this stuff! If the writers decide it, the deathstar can kill planets with happy thoughts and pixie dust, so all this is kind of pointless, isn't it?
Kirk and the gang go to the 20th century to get whales to save Earth from being destroyed in their own time. In the new movies they could have gone to the future with old Spock,to save Vulcan from being destroyed, by helping Spock NOT be late preventing the Supernova, thus stopping the Narada before it killed Kirks dad, etc! Β OR THIS! They make a transporter beam that can beam stuff to Qo'nos', when the badguy uses it, they send a Starship to use torpedoes to attack Β the badguy, which should start a war with the Klingons, which they plan to win using StarFleets new Dreadnought .. oh wait ... why don't we just beam torpedoes mysteriously onto our enemies planets using that same super transporter, and then our enemies won't even know who to strike back against! Teleported nukes were used by aliens in the original series! ALSO ship speeds are so much faster in the new films, or much slower if needed for the story. It takes longer to fly from Vulcan to Earth, for the Narada, a ship from the future, or the Enterprise, than it takes for the Federation Fleet to fly from Earth to Vulcan. The Enterprise got from Qo'nos to Earth's moon quicker than that! In the first series Khan isn't a superman enough! Kirk physically beats him with quick thinking, and smooth efficiency, so they amp him up with some writer pcp. He becomes a clone of Batman, and Wolverine and now it takes angry Spock, and repeated phaser hits to get him down. Canon doesn't matter, the scripts, and special effects of the past don't matter, science, logic, and consistency don't matter. Β
Nobody will ever win a StarWars vs Star Trek debate because none of the writers really give a hoot about reality more than is needed to sell you a plausible lie. Embrace the lie in front of you, enjoy it, eat your pop-corn, and if you want to do it, go ahead and argue about who has the tougher ships, or the better tech. Just don't get offended if the lie you buy into, isn't the same lie as the one the other poster happens to like better. Ok? Β

An unfinished Death Star would be in trouble. In "Obsession" Kirk had Scotty drain off some of the engines' antimatter and enclose it in a magnetic bottle so that they could use it as a weapon. It was the equivalent of 10,000 nuclear bombs. Normally I'd side with the Empire, but without shields this Death Star is in trouble.

LMAO this is great, especially that last comment: "glorified farmboy managed it alone" LMAO! That aside the Feds definitely have the advantage, with photon torpedoes that can on occasion change phase and go right through a shield, and if you target one part of the shield it'll weaken and you can get the torpedo in there. On the other hand thatβs in the ST universe, in the SWs universe I think the shield works and stands as a whole?
In any case the ST ships are much more maneuverable than most SW ships of the size and class. ST has shields and most SW donβt. SW lasers bounce off and ST kill/damage. and who can forget that Star Wars ships Cant hit the Broad Side of a BARN, Or DEATH Star, AKA Small MOON! Where as the Star Track can Hit anything no matter how small with great precision I donno about 90+% of the time?
The only down fall to the ST winning over SW is the fact that the Death Star Reminds me of the BORG!!! DUNN, DUNN, DUNN!

just so you know the DS2 is fully functional. So it's super laser would rip the federation ships apart in 36 min IF it only used it's super laser, and only hit one ship per shot(the DS2's super laser had a recharge of 3 min and advanced targeting computers capable of targeting the small cruisers of the alliance).
