Ah, the Dirty Pair.Here are the Lovely Angles, doing what they do best. Planet wide chaos. I've been a big fan of the Dirty Pair for a long time. Since before anime was popular. But I digress. I'm not here to talk about how old I am, or where my anime street credit comes from. Chicks with guns, that's what I'm here for. Two chicks with guns, now that's worth rendering a background.
The classic 'X' composition just seemed to fit. Had far too much fun with the expressions. They are also what took the most work. chose the classic costumes. Didn't do the yellow Yuri though. I'm also very partial to the Flash designs, and Adam Warren's Dirty Pair will always have a very warm place in my heart. The sense of humor in the series is very close to my own. I suppose in a way it's very much a Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy derivative. Which, if you're going to do Sci Fi, there's nothing better you can spawn from. Did I mention the guns? A pair of standard Plasma pistols, naturally Yuri has the smaller 'petite' model. Where Kei is packing the High Caliber version of the same weapon. I debated giving Kei the Bazooka she usually has, but it would have got in the way. I'm sure it's left on their space ship, and more than likely is directly responsible for the planet wide chaos.
Or, it's just a huge coincidence.

I wish I'd saved a copy of the earlier version so I could make an accurate change-log. I can, easily, see how you changed Yuri's face and hair, the brush strokes are less evident on the ground, the background has a bit more detail, and Kei's gun also. But, why am I simply pointing out differences?
The upshot is it looks more polished, indeed. Good job.
I don't expect you to spend any more time on the picture but I just noticed that Yuri's hair seems to blend into the rock formation behind her. It gives the impression that the background article is close but the shadow that appears lower makes it look like it's a few yards behind. It's very minor, though.

I was thinking of the very soft edge hair has when it gets splayed out like that. I'm "ok" with it right now. It wouldn't be the end of the world if I did spend some more time on it, though. We'll see.

Don't worry about it. It's important to know what soft edges can achieve. Both good and bad. I'm exchanging clear definition for an atmospheric effect.

One of the things that I love so very much about the dirty pair, is the situations they find themselves in. If it's not breaking loose, they're not there. Nothing is simple with those two.
It really gave me the chance to act with the characters. That's the thing I love about doing art.

Sorry, it's not that easy. There are forms you need to fill out. There's a trial period. It's not something you just up and start doing one day. My trial period ended months ago and they still won't let me handle more than an ounce of distilled awesome.

Fortunately, Awesome is like Vitamin C. If you take to much, the extra goes right through you.
And if you stand just right, sometimes you can get it to flow through the stylus.
The Dirty Pair is a whole lot of Awesome, so watch out.

Sometimes, I can get awesome to flow through the mouse too. But, it invariably causes wrist cramp.
