I'm not normally very political. Especially when it comes to my art. However, with all the executive orders signed by *ahem* fearless leader President Donald Trump, I had one of those Popeye "This is all I can stands. I can't stands no more." moments. If I didn't do something, all this anger was probably going to poison my soul.The image is pretty straightforward. I found a photo of Trump during his campaign where he hugged the American flag, then I changed it in Photoshop until it looked like what I believe he is doing to this country. Put simply, I think Donald Trump pulled off the biggest con in history and the United States of America (and most likely parts beyond) will pay dearly for it.
I don't say that because he is a republican. And I am not saying it because I voted for Clinton. If given the opportunity I would have gladly voted for Bernie Sanders. I say it because I look at him and I know in the pit of my stomach that he is not capable of running a small town much less a nation of millions with a military and nuclear friggin weapons. Nor do I believe that has this nation or its people's best interests at heart. I knew this all during the election and... I wish more of my fellow Americans realized it as well. However, I also fear that they will come to realize their mistake sooner or later. On behalf of my homeland to the rest of the nations of the world: If it is any consolation, I am truly sorry my people gave this poor man's Lex Luthor so much power.
My only regret about this project is that I wish I had not thought of it sooner. Like some time before the election...

Good to you feel the same and I think they couldn'tΒ impeachedΒ him because they didn't have enough evidence yet, which was probably been trying to be covered up, or some other reason. Best to hope for the best.

I think the only way to fix it would be to impeach Trump. The problem there is that most of the real politicians are either corrupt or have their heads so far up their own asses that they can see their dinner.

Thanks for your support. I think we can only hope that Trump gets himself impeached before he does something truly horrible and permanent. Also I try to take solace in the fact that many people voted for Trump, but there are at least as many people ready, willing and able to make the next four years of his life a living nightmare.

The one problem with Trump getting impeached (which does seem quite likely) is that, in some ways, Mike Pence is even worse.Β Not as flat-out psychotic, perhaps, but hideously misogynistic and homophobic....Β *curls into tiny ball*

True, but it's a lesser of two evils type of situation. Which seems less likely to ruin this country beyond recovery and/or start World War III?

I'll grant you that Trump is FAR more likely to destroy the wholeΒ world, but Pence will, at the very least, destroy as many women and gay men as he possibly can.Β Which really doesn't much reassure me.
