Description
Next in my long series of impasto flowers, but this time (loosely) based on a real reference photo I took of some beautiful white daffodils at my place of work.It is 9.5x7 inches, Cryla acrylics on canvas board. All painted with painting knives.
Colours used: Ultramarine, lemon yellow, phthalo turquoise, titanium white, pyrolle red and nickel titanate yellow! I photographed it in bright early morning sunshine to bring out the heavy impasto texture.
Please let me know what you think!

I love impasto art! There is a digi-scrap designer who uses a lot of thick textures in her layouts and it is just amazing! Your series is awesome! I love the texture! Where you have added, or applied, thicker texture, on the flower heads, gives the look of the flowers popping off the page! Very cool!

Hey, hi! I really love your paitings, and I was just wondering:
all your paintings have a really great texture. It looks like you use a lot of paint in their making. How much paint do you go through? How big are the paint tubes? Do you have to go get more paint very often? (I notice you use the ultramarine colour quite a lot XD)

Yes, I do use a lot of paint, but notice that most of my paintings are very small. I use 75ml tubes of Cryla acrylic, but 250ml tubs of titanium white and ultramarine!

sssooo thick! this goes beyond painting and into sculpture. very nice do you have to let layers dry before you go over them or do you just keep adding paint?

Thank you! Yes, I am thinking about how to extend my paintings into sculpture...
With acrylics it isn't really necessary to let it dry, but I did let the underpainting dry overnight.
