that I like better than the other (but you'd be badly wrong if you think freedom is surfing on the net: the net always was a prison for y/our mind/s designed to fence you in y/our own phantasies: a perpetuum-mobile-meme-machine

it was never envisaged that the internet would be as influential as it was
it has also brought freedom to many in different ways
freedom to explore
freedom to learn
freedom to express yourself to those who might listen and understand or learn from what we have to say
it is a wider reach
and a wider influence upon us
it expands awareness and opens minds

depending of course on how we use it

we are the biggest limitation upon our own self
and if we are fenced in by our own phantasies and fantasies then that prison is of our own making
even if by only allowing ourselves to be susceptible

exploring fantasies is one of the things that the internet has given a lot of people the freedom to do
i think it is good to explore them, as long as we don't end up living there
although, some may make the rational choice to live in a better place
fantasies have always shaped future realities

'fantasies have always shaped future realities'... yes, exactly this I do fear!
utopia = archiepelago gulag
wagner's nibelungen = III.rd reich
freedom of global learning/exchange/expression without limits = brave new world/1984. 2.0 )

it is the nature of imagination

we should not fear imagination, or the future
we should fear nothing

but we should't let individuals impose their own utopia on others

maybe we just have to call intelligence stupidity
is this the age of artificial stupidity?
we are under surveillance by the federal bureau of stupidity F.B.S.
