never knowing whether someone is going to hack you down
to make more space
stop you from interfering with their foundations
their idea of progress
everything is based on foundations these days
without roots
there is no longevity
just the desire for a quick profit
no care for the living
whether it be the young shoots that spring from acorns
or the wisdom and the admirable dignity
of a proud old oak
[i hate the way that old, even older people, are treated these days
almost as if they were in the way
their wisdom interfering, with shallow new ideas
and too many young people are just not given a fair chance]
