I like this idea very much!
You've inspired me to do something similar (visually then) for school.
We need to make a 'feel box' for children. So it won't be as conceptual as this and I won't steal the idea. Are you okay with this?

being forgotten
then discovered as a retro artifact
everything is so fragile it is a wonder that anything survives
