Description
This was originally a painting of William Blake, based on a photograph of his life mask. Though the picture wasn't finished I scanned it into Photoshop and added a few layers of colour & texture. I think the end product looks better than the original painting, which I'm still working on.Related content

when ah wuz a kid ran away to Soho visited Blake's bro's shop still standing then & thar war an original hand-col print in the window curling in the sun - only time ah ever thought of smash&grab - once owned 12 jobbing originals by WB & have written extensively on him in The Autobiography of God Almighty (Vol 1) which can be located fer free at orthos paiderestein - ah thunk WB war IT where line war concerned & his Last Judge is miraculous (the 900 fig un war burned by Frederick Tatham as satanic one of the greatest losses in art history) - ah have a huge art library (+ library) inc a 1st ed of Mona Wilson's 1927 life of WB a joy to hold - cheers

Well done. I agree the added layers compliment the piece very well. The position of the lips clearly identifies this as either a death mask or dead person, so the muted color palette you've used works well.
