It's an Eastern Redbud tree.

i have never heard of this kind of tree before, its so gorgeous.

The scientific name is Cercis canadensis the common name is Eastern Redbud or Judas Tree and in southern Appalachia it is called the spicewood tree. You can find out more about it here... [link]
