Very kewl old train, looks like you captured the nostalgic aspect blended with this century just perfectly! I’d like to see the whole nose (if that’s what one calls it) of the train, less green as it tends to wash it out, more blue to bring forward the metallic coloring and if only the conductor could have been looking away!

Thank you!

I've just posted a front view of this locomotive here.... [link]
The actual color of the boilerplate is a rather dull forged iron, not a very shiny metallic look.

Thank you!
I love trains and photos of them. This is from my first attempt at actually photographing one myself. The best of maybe 30 or so shots I took that day.
Thank you so much for your encouraging remarks.

I was very happy with the way this shot came out.
I use a Nikon E8800 digital camera, 8 megapixal set to extra fine which gives a resolution of 3264X2448 at 300dpi. To post here I resize usually to 1024X768 and sometimes crop. I'm going to experiment in Raw mode shortly to see if the quality is much higher. Though I Will need some new software to work with that format as far as I know.

I think adobe photoshop can work with RAW... it is much much MUCH better quality. only thing is with DA you'd have to have a jpg preview picc.

you totally beat me. i run off my Olympus 3 megapixel point n shoot camera except when i bust out my good ol' trusty film camera which is mighty intense SLR n gorgeous.
