This is really well done. It clarifies some key points, such as why the pen tool can make a better selection than things like the lasso, how to make a stroke path, and what "stimulate pen pressure" does. Too many times tuts on the pen tool stop at How to Make a Curve.
The design of the piece is also clear and legible.
Cheers!

This is an awesome tutorial, however I'm using PSP8 and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the stupid pen to stop filling in the shape, it won't make a simple line. Is there anyway you can help with that? Maybe I'm over looking something?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it's not awesome enough to get faved? lol
Maybe your pentool modes are wrong?Before you select the pentool in psp Make sure your Foreground color is set to black. and the background color transparency is Off.
Unfortunately i have never used any kind of psp, so i cant really tell you.
Found a tut that might be helpful to you

Highly suggest to get Adobe Photoshop.

I haven't faved anything yet! I'm saving that for when I have my own stuff up...which will happen after I stop beating my scanner with a hammer. >.>;
Thank you for the link, that will be helpful, again, when the scanner is not being lame. As for the rest, yes, transparency is always off & I have the color selected but it just does not want to work with me. I'll figure it out, or I'll stick to traditional art techniques and be happy about it lol.

You should get Photoshop, so much better, i would help you with that! on any aspect.
It's sometimes better to take an even angle camera shot rather then scanning the big canvases?. unless your gonna scan piece by piece and put it together in psp
Would love to see your your traditional works, acrylic?
(I wanted to get into oil/acrylic painting but supplies are so expensive)
Start your uploading and submit your art!!!

Mostly acrylic and charcoal on my part, I tried oil once and it took a month to dry. I was so use to layering paint with acrylic that it didn't click that I shouldn't add as much with oil silly me. I do have a digital camera I could upload with...that might actually work.
& if I had the money to buy anything other than psp8, I would, but paying college out of your pocket and trying to make your insurance bills monthly is kind of crazy. >.< One day, when things aren't $700 for programs, I'll buy a new one! lol.
