That actually looks pretty cool. What was this thing's intended purpose in the game?

Now that's interesting, a robot with "skin." We don't see that very often in robotic designs. Very inspiring work!

I think I'm just as impressed by the lighting on the silhouettes as I am on the large fella . I'm not a fan of the colours but that's a personal thing.
As mentioned textures are fantastic!

I like the detail on this guy. Looking at his thumbnail though, he reminds me of a penguin. XD

Did you mirror the guy? The japanese on his torso is backwards.
Still looks pretty cool.

dude this is fking unreal. I love your environment work, but damn, this is great. strong silhouette and good balance between small and large shapes. And of course, cool texture. Would love to see some more if your allowed to put them up. What sort of game was it for out of interest?

Thanks dude, yeah there's a few more designs kicking around. I'll try and get them posted
It was a third person action game, not so much a shooter. It relied more on hacking and stealth. This design was one of the enemies that stalked you around the abandoned space station the game was set on. The style was very cool but a little too Mass Effect in places (although a lot of ME is just Syd Mead). We wanted to visualise what NASA tech would look like in 100 years so we took a lot of cues from films like 2001 and Moon. Lots of WHITE

Cool! Give it a more complex face design (maybe by copy-pasting other body parts and transforming/mirroring them?) and it could be a Mass Effect creature!

I'm sort of rattling around, have done a bit of freelance work, and haven't made much time for doing personal art. This year was a bust on that front! My new year's resolution will be to spend more time making my own art...
It's weird working on NDA projects--it feels like work, but then I have nothing to show for it at the end!
What are you up to? Freelance?

Good resolution Yeah i'm pretty much in the same boat. I hate working freelance, i miss working with other artists. I don't find it inspiring talking to a producer for half an hour every morning

I'm not sure where I stand--I burn out quickly, and I need a lot of "time off" to daydream, turn over ideas in my mind. I'm not an art-producing machine, which means I don't feel especially comfortable in a studio setting. Freelance is spotty and is financially not the best, but I do like having more freedom to work how and when I want to.
Working with other artists is very cool, but again I need a lot of personal space in order to concentrate.
I actually kind of like working with "non-art" people because they're sometimes more easily impressed. lol.
Pros and Cons to both, I suppose. Good luck to you you!
