Quick colour study for the Mars faction enviroment. Done quite a few sketches for this team so far, they're a little trickier than the Earth team but i'm getting there.30 minutes

Coool concept and color, but it seems like the architecture is a bit to small, well at least in my eyes. I guess that is more of a personal view, but great piece none the less.

Most of the Architectures is underground, these buildings are air scrubbers

the colours sure fit well with the mars environment
what are those large buildings? satellite dishes or settlements or some kind

Thanks, yeah i the buildings are like air scrubbers that filter the air to the buildings below. Most of the population live underground to protect against the harsh and unpredictable weather. I'm going to make a couple of detailed marker sketches for these structures later on.

Oh its for a game, a war between the Earth, Mars and the Moon. Some of the previous sketches i put up before this where for the Earth enviroment and for the level designers to get ideas from.
This is a colour study for the enviroment, i haven't really started that much designing yet.

ooo did you study the actual mapping researched from the orbital satelite photos? that cud be an idea to get the actual shapes of a mars volcano or something?

No not for this piece, i have looked at the surface for reference but i just sketched this out from the top of me head

it does actually look like a set of mountains of the southern hemisphere

Yes, you are getting there. It really looks like Mars: warm orange-reddish tones, dusty environment and dense clouds. Mars team will be happy
