Words and photos don't do it justice, at all. Standing in its presence is humbling and stunning. Thanks for your comments.

I was just about to ask you if this was Angel Oak- and then saw the comments down below. Wow! I was just introduced to this tree today as one of my friends posted a picture of this magnificent beauty on my Facebook page and told me that I should pay it a visit while I am here on the east coast for the time being. I thought of you not long after I saw the picture- came to your page- saw this Awe-some.

It is one of my favorite spots. I have found it to be a humbling and reassuring experience. Seeing it in person... hard to do that justice with words. Charleston is my birthplace, this is on John's Island, sort of suburbs. The Angel Oak is the highlight of John's Island, where I find the natural beauty there haunting and I am haunted by the man made. I thought you were out west somewhere.

Well if we are to be haunted, this polarity is not a bad way to experience it. I think that once I acquire the funds, I will make a trip down south. My best friend is currently in North Carolina so she would be an extra incentive and pit stop along the way to this tree. I graduated from grad school in CA, went and spent some time in Vienna Austria, and now I'm home in MD where I will work- then head back out to California. Angel Oak just seems to be calling to me and I'd love to come meet it on a gentle breeze.

Thanks, a picture really can't capture it all. It is supposedely 1400 years old and has limbs which go over 90 feet from its trunk. I am certain Germany must have some beautiful trees.I visit this tree often, it is called the Angel Oak and is in Charleston, South Carolina in the USA. t's amazing it has survived all of our so called progress.

It is isn't it? Don't often have an entire sentence with all words starting with 'i', what does that say about me? It's called the Angel Oak and is said to be 1400 yeas old. Thanks for the favorites.

This tree is called by some, 'the Angel Oak' and it is in Charleston, South Carolina. It is believed to be 1400 years old and has limbs extending over 75 feet from its trunk. It has indeed seen much, it still sees more than I. A picture really doesn't do it justice. Thanks.
