Description
As noted in the journal entry "Forgotten OC", these are the first sketches I did for a character I created in 1996, and somehow forgot she existed!

Her name is Patricia Shoals, but because of her physique she got stuck with the nickname "Muscle". Her profession: private investigator. Her avocation: bodybuilding. (duh!)

She seems to have fit into the pattern I was following when I started creating my own OCs about that time: a muscular version of the prominent female archetypes of pop culture and fiction. Superheroines (Starburst and Dyna the Damsel Dynamo), caped but non-super powered heroine (Satin Steele), jungle girl (Leenah of the Lions) and even an anime-style muscle-babe (Tetsuko, although her design has strayed quite a bit from her origins). Apparently, I also created a muscle-version of the female private eye.

I don't recall whether she had a direct (non-muscular) inspiration was, e.g. "She's Honey West, but with biceps". But (unlike Honey) Patricia isn't yet another blonde. It seems that her hair is maybe light brown (a little darker than honey-blonde.

She's also not as bulky as most of my OCs, more of a "fitness" physique than an outright bodybuilder. (Although a lot of what I've seen as "fitness" these days look like lightweight bodybuilders back in the day!) It's possible I intended this to be a TV series or movie rather than a comics series, since I didn't draw a lot of comics continuity for her.
