TCC = Tetsuko Cosplay CalendarBrowsing the Web the other day, and came across an article/review of the 2011 DVD/Blu-Ray release of the 1980 Roger Corman "classic" Battle Beyond the Stars.
Which brought back a reminder that Sybil Danning was in this movie, playing the "Space Valkyrie" Saint-Exmin, in a skimpy outfit.
'Nuff said!
(I've never seen the movie, but that will change soon, because I ordered and received the DVD from Amazon.com, along with another slice of sci-fi cheese, Starcrash. Hmm, maybe I should have Tetsuko cosplay "Stella Star" for July?)

I believe I've seen it once - and my recollection was that was maybe enough - but Ms. Danning was quite spectacular! Β Nicely done!

"Battle Beyond The Stars"? You're in for a treat. Art directed by James Cameron. Made when "B" movies were no more or less than a good waste of time on a hot Saturday afternoon at the movies. "Starcrash" is another example of how Star Wars impacted and they would put up anything, ANYthing space related! Also see if you can rent "The Humanoid" with Barbara Bach and Richard Kiel (probably guess who he plays) All from that wonderful in between period of the early 80's before the slick blockbusters had completely taken over.

Well, the coverage is extremely... tentative...
The BBTS DVD contains (according what I've read, I haven't watched it yet) an interview with Richard Thomas (who plays "Shad" in BBTS, and is better known as "John-Boy" from The Waltons), wherein he talks, among other things, about how much trouble Sybil Danning was having staying in her costume.
