This is no fault of her own (rather of the TV series) but her eyes are red in the novels.

I do not know, but something seems to be wrong with her face. I cannot precisely point out what, but to me the proportions of her face appear a little off, especially around her eyes. Apart from this little flaw the portrait is very well done. I love her necklace, it looks very realistic.

There is usually a lot more shading and depth on David's images, but I think in this case, the subject matter had a very pale face with much light coming directly onto the skin. Melisandre tends towards an ethereal appearance, in my opinion, so while the initial view seems off, I think he hit it on the head.

Faces are not always symetrical. and light doesn't always fall in the right places. maybe the reference picture was taken with a flash on. she's still pretty regardless, and the skill for this is not something most of us around here have.

I criticised neither his skills nor did I say that I hate the picture, I just stated that to me her face appears slightly strange, but after he did some corrections the drawing looks very good. And I know that faces are never 100% symetrical, otherwise humans would look like androids/artificial beings which is rather a disturbing thought.
