I may not be a hardcore Godzilla fan, but I can see the appeal behind this radioactive leviathan. Created some time after Hiroshima and Nagasaki got hit by nuclear bombs during WWII as an allegory to the aftermath. His name is derived from the Japanese word Gojira, a portmanteau of the Japanese word for gorilla "gorira" and the Japanese word for whale "kujira" so his name roughly means "Gorilla Whale". I have seen the 2014 film and enjoyed it, and I do look forward to 2019's Godzilla: King of the Monsters this month.Godzilla belongs to Tomoyuki Tanaka, Ishiro Honda, and Eiji Tsubaraya
