I'm almost done with Book one of BAM, and so I decided to show you some of the illustrations I'm putting in the book.

At the end of Book 1, Eric thinks long and hard about what to do with America's documents in Maatla. And his mind takes him to the ravaged ruins of post-tornado Kentucky.

Among the desolation and emptiness, one thing still stood tall. A flag post with Old Glory flying high. I showed an image of what the American Spirit should be like: Do your fsking worst, you don't have the balls to take me off this flagpole.

And in a telling scene which many people can interpret whatever you'd want, the flag frees itself from the flagpole and flutters down to Eric's arms, almost as if it wants to go with Eric on his journey.

It's a very touching scene, and makes for a great finish of Book 1.
