Description
Hamamatsu's Zero was discovered on Guam and brought to Japan in 1964. It participated in the Marianas Turkey Shoot where it was badly damaged by a Corsair after shooting down a Hellcat and strafing a SOC Seagull attempting to pull a pilot out of the water. The Zero made a crash landing on Guam but the pilot, Shimazu Ozaki, died of his wounds later.www.pacificwrecks.com/aircraft…
