Description
I wanted to do something that would hopefully be different than the run-of-the-mill, post-apocalyptic scenario. I hope you enjoy it.Thanks for looking!
Made with Gimp 2.6. and some walnuts.
All stock, aside from the house photo, is from my own work and can be seen here: [link]

I've logged a lot of hours in Hyrule. These were originally intended to be just that, with a peanut Link, but this contest came along the same time the green hat wasn't working out so well.

Who doesn't?
Your work is one of a few which really deserved to win because of it's concept etc. - in my opinion.

I think people just sometimes have a hard time seeing things outside of their own perspective. No biggie, I'm happy.
Thank you for your comment.

I love the skull with flowers! This is so cutesily tragic.

This one puts a smile on my face, makes me think of the Little Shop of Horrors plant. Clever and cute work (great imagery with the skeleton and the flowers growing over it)

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. To be honest, I'm tired of looking at it; I keep seeing every shortcoming.

For some reason I haven't noticed this one before it made it to the semi-finalists. Really great one, I absolutely love the walnut heads, haha!

Thanks, I barely got it in just a few minutes before the deadline. I was a little shocked that I made the cut, honestly. There were a few that didn't that surprised me.
I noticed your work some time ago. I think we are in some common groups. Cool stuff!

Thank you.
Yes, I also think that there were some outstanding ones that didn't make it to the semi-finalists, while some of the cosen images aren't that great.

Ha! I always assume they're referring to mine when they say, "some don't belong up there" on the semi-finalists article.

This is what happens when people can't be bothered maintaining their gardens Definitely unique among the smoke and fire of other apocalypse scenes. I can imagine this being beyond that point when everything clears up again and a new world order emerges

I'm a terrible gardener.
It would have been so much easier to go darker, easier to manipulate, but I wanted the air to look cleaner. I imagined food shortages with Earth's rising population and a misstep-solution of genetically enhancing crops. There just wasn't enough Round-Up, I guess...hard to believe.

... um, the plants are destroying the house instead of protecting it.
