I think it's too unfair to say that a character like him, who has hardly any dialogue at all, is one of the most controversial characters in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and EQG. Regardless, he was a challenging - but fun - vector to create. He will also play a major role in both of my upcoming MLP books.Related content

If you can truly call anything he has ever done "controversial".
Both Hasbro and the fandom (but mostly the fandom) have been totally unfair to this character. The way they keep using him and putting him in places where he doesn't add or do anything is insulting.
Both Blueblood and Feather Bangs were treated with far more respect than Flash has ever been. They at least had a character and a role to play.

You're right about Blueblood and Feather Bangs. I feel that it's an irony of a sort that a more gentlemanly, chivalrous stallion is frowned upon by MLP fans. What would this tell us of the views of his critics, I wonder?
