This photo HAD to be in black and white. Color definitely would have taken away from the overall impact of this.

You can almost SMELL this setting! I am quite sure the stone he is cutting on is the same one his grandfather used and the black and white definitely makes you question whether or not it has been washed in this generation.

The fish everywhere, blood splatters, dirt, old and crusty equipment is encasing this man who, without the gloves and knife, could easily be mistaken for a McDonald's employee elsewhere!

This picture tells a story and that is why I love it. It is the story of a different culture with different traditions and standards. It is the story of a man more than likely following the footsteps of his father and grandfather. He doesn't see the guts, the grime, the gore. He just works to support his own family.
