Description
I recently was invited to exhibit @ the Calgary Expo 2007, on April 29th..... I was contacted previously to do a commission of an attendees characters...of course I went for it when I saw one of his characters was a tiger.... Here is a scan of the commission, I actually really enjoyed doing this one, hopefully Erik enjoyed it just as much....Related content

Very "comforting" tiger, or how to say Looks so big and trustful. I envy your skill of being able to give your animals so much life and personality.. But I must say that one of my favourite parts are the wings. great detailjob!

Wow, this is amazing. Your work always looks so flowing. None of the characters ever look stiff. I admire your work so much.

Hey David,
I love how this piece turned out. I really like your take on Wyntarra, my Frost Faerie character and, of course, the tiger looks amazing (he used to have a name, but I decided I didn't like it...still trying to think up a new one...lol). It was a pleasure chatting with you briefly at the Expo. I was pretty busy running around setting other pieces up (you commented on me doing the rounds...heh).
As for nobody telling Edmonton, I am from Edmonton. There were flyers and stuff at all of the comic shops, and Happy Harbour even had a bus you could buy tickets for, that would drive you there and back. I drove down on my own, though.

What's the faerie's colour-scheme? I'd love to try some colour on this piece, if that's cool with you guys.

Calgary's having an Expo???? How come no one told Edmonton? Seriously. Next time we win a Stanley Cup Calgary is not invited.

Just like what you did with the lion (I think you had it on your blog site) I'm surprised by the structure/anatomy for the animals. Such bulk and mass, but yet you make it look so easy. As well as inspiring too. And tigers are my favorite animals, though I'll never own one. I still have common sense left in me.
Awesome job David!

well there is a lot of knowledge in that design... As I say in my book, you have to understand the real in order to cartoon it

So true David. And cartoons is just exaggeration of what's realistic.

This is extremely impressive...I especially love the expressions.
Absolutely gorgeous, particularly the attention to detail (i.e. the veins in the fairy's wings)
