Concerning this and the other LA zoo sketch after, how do you manage to cart around wet medium like this to do sketches? I find pencils to be bothersome enough as it is!
Beautiful expression, though. It's interesting to see how you were there and were observing the creature yet this stylized drawing came out.

I usually have a watercolor sketch book..spiral bound- a small travel w/c set and then a brush that has water in it....aquaflo is one brand..their great...you just squeeze the soft end to dispense the water...
