Description
Again I tried to go for something a little different with this cover. I wanted to keep it more graphic this time around; I didn't want to do lots of needless rendering. I wanted to keep it bold, and I'm hoping it stand out on the shelves.Pencils, inks, and colours, all by me.
X-FACTOR #228
Written by Peter David
Penciled by Leonard Kirk
Cover by David Yardin
X-MEN REGENESIS
Still reeling from the shocking death of one of their own, how can the X-Factor team possibly take down the one responsibleβ¨-- the deadly Bloodbath? Then, in issue 229: Layla Miller. Jamie Madrox. Husband and wife. Lying murdered in their honeymoon suite. The moment you thought would never come is here, and not only are you a witness to it, but so is Jamie Madrox himself. We feel safe in saying that this is X-Factor as you've never seen them before in the first part of what has to be the trippiest arc in the history of Marvel.

This is a beautifully rendered piece.
I really like all the subtle lines you've included, especially when depicting the nose and philtrum.

There was a lot of great character stuff in #230. I tried to capture as much as I could on the cover, since I couldn't do the spoiler at the end, or the other thing going on. I'm looking forward to what you do inside the book.

Great cover -- very striking. It has a Ryan Sook look to it, and I mean that as a high compliment. I'm really digging the contrasts going on in the piece.

Can't say I was going for Sook, but I love his art so thanks. I hope the contrast makes it pop on the shelves.
