Description
Old slide taken at the National Museum in Washington DC in the first couple of hours that the King Tutankhamen exhibit was opened in the first tour here in the US.. I had been at the Air and Space museum across the way and on the way out..we saw them unfurling the Tut banner on the museum and walked over. There was NO line..NO charge..and we were about the ONLY people there..that changed rather quickly and there were always huge lines and fees to get in for a glimpse of his treasures. I've always wondered how I got so lucky as to be in the right place at the right time like that!!!Related content

I went to this tour when I was a teen, in New Orleans I believe. The lines were unreal, I remember that. You were very lucky! I still have a book I bought at the gift shop after. It is filled with beautiful photographs of the exhibit. It was amazing.
