Yea there are many near the St Lawrence up the Gaspe peninsula..theyre beautiful.. these are very ugly sitting but in flight very impressive. .. Wow thanks for all those faves!!!!!

Ah.. we took a cruise from New York City once that went up to Nova Scotia and then up around Gaspe and down the St. Lawrence and left us off in Quebec. that was one of my favorite trips...the other times I just drove us there...

You should explore!! Canada has SO much.. My father was born in Alberta and his brothers were from London and Sault Ste. Marie. We saw most of this end of it living in upstate New York and on the trips I have taken from here to there.. When we came home from living in Alaska we drove down the Alcan highway through Yukon and BC.. What a trip THAT was...

you are welcome on all the faves! I will be going over to north vancouver island in a few weeks and apparently the eagle population is absolutely tremendous. Now that i have a camera, i can capture them in one of their peak seasons. I actually dont even know if we have turkey eagles here. I do know we have a ton of seagulls right by the river, and they never ever shut the f&%^ up, even through the night!

Oh, nice! It is so hard to get the light through their wings...great job! Maybe we ought to kidnap you and get you to photograph condors...seeing as how you and vultures obviously get along so well.

Thanks.. My cousin had an Andean Condor named Vidor.. at his house once.. apparently Vidor is taken to schools and such for educational purposes and he is quite tame... he is absolutely huge.. and in flight he is magnificent!... I was lucky on the light.. Thanks!

I've seen pictures of Vidor...they used pictures of him in the exhibit for comparison with the California Condors, as I recall and I know he has been to some of the schools or museums around here. And yes you were lucky on the light...but the skill is there as well.

Again, nice capture....EXIF says this was 150mm, so either it was really close or you cropped it a little to fill the frame.
Nice shot though, the feathers on the trailing edge of the wing are really nicely lit

Yea.. they were up about a 35 foot tree, I used the 150 at max and further zoomed when I offloaded.. I did crop and enhance the contrast.. Thanks!!! The light on the wing edge was just luck!
