Its' the soil.. I think acidic soil makes them blue.. the one over by my fence was pink when they gave it to me when I retired.. now it's a  beautiful blue

You could be right there you know...my grandad was a bit of a joker and he had the most beautiful blue one by the front door. He said he buried nails in the soil, but I never knew whether he was teasing or not.
