Yo, Davonne reporting inHere's the colored version to Javonne's earler sketch [link] Had to change the title cause the original sucked.
I swear, as I colored this image I couldn't help but think about the AU version of Hinata from the new upcoming Road to Ninja coming out in July. I was tempted to put some lipstick on her but as I fiddled with it, the more I hated the idea of it. My Hinata doesn't need any damn lipstick! She's hotter without it! Leave that shit to Tsunade or someone else! Well, that's all I got for now. Enjoy.
Edit: wow, I completely forgot to color her tongue. I Fail! X(

Hmm welp my constructive criticism would be to give her jacket something better to contrast with, Orange on orange BG doesn't help her stand out
As for getting dark tones right on monitors with shitty contrast (mentioned below) is to break falloffs out in layers and shade in bright florescent colors then when finished lock the layers opacity and fill it with the dark tone of your choice, It's something i've done in the past to get around the issue and double check with a fellow friend.

Yeah, looking at it again, it really was a mistake to put an orange background. I just hate doing backgrounds I guess. Perhaps I'm not creative enough.
I'll have to practice trying with brighter colors. I don't know much about how to break falloffs, but I'll try and learn about that so I can apply it. Thanks for the help mate!

Well white would have been ok, not entertaining. Any light pastel color would do even orange would still worked if it was marginally lighter then what was on her jacket.
Its a nutshell way of saying do any form of shading stages on separate layers. It may be a cumbersome way but doing so allows you to be able to tweek & fix it with ease when you find the contrast to be unsatisfactory not only that the ability to see wtf your doing XD

It looks good! May I use this picture to help me figure out how it's done? I'm more of a hands on person, but if I work with it enough, I may learn how to do it properly.

This looks awesome. I really like the highlights on her hair and the blushing on her face. Your highlights always look spot on, I was I could do highlights like that. A little advice though you might want to make the shading a little darker.

Thanks man, I thought I'd try something a little different this time with her hair. I tried to mix the blush into her face more naturally. I looked at the way I colored her face in earlier pictures, and thought I didn't do that well in blending it in. Yeah I think you're right with the shadowing.
I've been having problems figuring out if it was dark enough. The reason is because of my laptop. I have to always adjust the screen up and down to see how it looks when I'm editing it. Sometimes it looks too dark or too light. But thanks for the advice, where do you see the shadows too light? Is it on her hair, face, body or the jacket?

Yeah coloring on a laptop can be difficult to get the shade and brightness right if you don't get the right screen position or sitting position. When I'm coloring on a laptop and if I'm not sure about the colors I just go to a screen shot or vector image (like in this gallery [link] ) and use the eyedropper tool and sample the shade/highlight color they use in the picture. That way I know the shade/highlight color is right know matter what it looks like on the laptop.
Well on the mesh shirt, jacket, and skin the shadows could be a little darker in my opinion. As far as the hair it really depends on how bright the base color is. Usually what I do for shadows is "the lighter the color the darker the shadow."

Yeah I think you're right, I know the skin could definitely use some darker shadowing, but I hadn't thought of that with the jacket. Thanks for pointing that out. The lighter the color, the darker the shadow, I'll keep that in mind.
